help Four Winds
AS A RESULT OF YOUR GIFT WE CAN:
the campaign to develop the site on which the Festival is held is a remarkable example of transformative thinking and we now have a permanent venue that allows us to dream big! We will capitalise on the opportunity offered by the Sound Shell and the Windsong Pavilion to create a world-class cultural facility and deliver a greater number and variety of events.
this cultural facility will provide Four Winds with unprecedented year-round opportunities to attract the highest calibre artists working locally, nationally and internationally and present a range of performances that represent the best in music, dance, theatre, film and family entertainment. Here is a taster of just some of the exciting programmes planned for later this year:
Olga Masters – the six well-known children of this distinguished Australian author will be at Cobargo and Four Winds to celebrate the life of their mother who began her journalistic career on the local Cobargo Chronicle.
Christmas at Four Winds – an event to herald in the festive season with music of different genres, eras and cultures performed by high-profile local and national artists.
our audience is passionate and supportive but we want to further increase participation and interaction with Four Winds both onsite and online. Technology will enable us to expand our reach, as the site is equipped with state-of-the-art broadcast equipment and broadband. Soon we hope to announce a partnership with a major arts organisation that will enable local students to experience high quality live performances delivered virtually by professional artists in real time.
by commissioning new work, providing residencies and performance opportunities Four Winds supports the growth and learning of musicians at all stages of their career. We want to be a home for aspiring artists and in 2013 we hosted a trial residency to nurture young, emerging musicians. The Auric Quartet from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) was in residence, working on their own repertory and performing, teaching, connecting and inspiring local musicians, orchestras, choirs and music educators.
by working together we can make a real impact and Four Winds has developed strong partnerships with exceptional collaborators such as the Sydney Opera House and the ABC. A new collaboration with the Sydney Film Festival will see some specially selected films coming our way in the near future.
our education programs have made an extraordinary impact on the lives of children and teenagers in our region and we will continue to provide imaginative ways for students and life-long learners to discover and appreciate the arts.
the local community and visitors to the region will be encouraged to come and enjoy our site more often. A native species arboretum, currently on the drawing board, will add to the beauty of the site.
Four Winds: Nature’s Concert Hall is a major cultural centre for our community, our region, and the nation as a whole. It’s a huge commitment to the performance, teaching, study, and appreciation of music in Australia.
Your involvement is vital to our success. Please consider making a donation to Four Winds and contribute to transforming the musical landscape in Australia.
