Zen Hu

Grand prize-winner of the National Chinese Violin Competition at fourteen, the youngest and first Chinese member of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, and collaborator with Yehudi Menuhin, Zen Hu now travels the world as a soloist and as a member of various chamber music groups.

She has appeared regularly as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic as well as the German brass ensemble Blechschaden.

She has appeared at many festivals including Italy (Chiavari, Trasimeno), Spain (Ibiza Summer), France (Biarritz), Finland (Rauma), Germany (Aschau), Austria (Lockenhaus, ‘Toujours Mozart’ in Vienna and Salzburg), The Netherlands (Eindhoven), Czech Republic (Prague Spring), Poland (Warszawa), USA (New York, Long Island), China (Shanghai, Beijing), Japan (Tokyo), Chile (Valparaiso), and Australia (Sydney Opera House). She has recorded several CDs, including the highly acclaimed recording for Channel Classics called China Connection in duo with violinist Ning Feng.
