Lee Pemberton

Lee's working collaborations and peers include Legs On The Wall, QL2, DeQuincey co., Ausdance, ATYP, OutBack Theatre for Young People and Circus Monoxide's Half High Circus. Her solo choreographies include Solo Feats, Yards & Yards, 50/50, Critical Condition and Critical Condition Visiting – METIS '06.

Lee trained at the VCA School of Dance Melbourne, her professional career began as an independent dancer/choreographer and in secondary schools teaching dance. Lee soon felt limited within the education structure and decided to focus on her choreographic studies returning to the VCA for post graduate studies. In 1998 Lee left Melbourne to live on the beautiful Far South Coast of NSW.

Lee is the founding director of youth company fLiNG Physical Theatre which is based in the Bega Valley. The companys' work has spanned a decade and has created a solid interest in contemporary dance and physical theatre within the region. fLiNG has become the State's first professionally funded Youth Dance Company and has a program that includes visiting professional artists, training for young people aged 10 to 24, workshops for the community and professional touring opportunities for fLiNG's performance company.

Under Lee's directorship fLiNG Physical Theatre has presented performances from Eden to the Opera House stage, in skate parks, town halls and basketball stadiums.
