Established in 2008, Gondawana Chorale is Australia's national youth choir made up of young singers from every state and territory in Australia. Singers aged 17-25 are handpicked through an annual audition process to take part in Gondawana National Choral School each January. This two week intensive rehearsal and performance season brings together over 200 choristers, composers and conductors. After gathering together to rehearse in January the choir goes on to meet for specific performances and tours throughout the course of the year.

In 2008 the Chorale performed at the Bloom with Music conference in Canberra, in various regional towns and cities, in Melbourne at St. Paul's Cathedral and with Katie Noonan and members of The Cat Empire at the NAB Dream Festival. In 2009 Gondawana Chorale performed at the Gondawana National Choral School Concerts and travelled to Tasmania to take part in the Festival of Voices as Guest Choir-in-Residence. In 2010 the choir performed at the Sydney Opera House as part of Gondawana Choirs 21st Birthday celebration before travelling to Port Macquarie for Choralfest. The choir also performed in St Stephen's Cathedral, Brisbane with New Zealand Youth Choir as part of their 2010 international tour. In 2011 Gondawana Chorale undertook its first international tour to New Zealand where they performed once again with the New Zealand Youth Choir.

Gondawana Chorale is one of the Gondawana National Choirs which includes Gondawana Voices, the internationally acclaimed group formed by Lyn Williams in 1997, Gondawana Singers and Junior Gondawana. Gondawana Choirs has a strong commitment to Australian choral music and has commissioned over 70 works from Australian composers.
