Flinders Quartet

Ten years old in 2010, the Flinders Quartet is a highly respected force in Australian chamber music.

The quartet has attended international chamber events such as Banff, Prussia Cove, The London String Quartet Competition and the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, and worked with highly respected chamber musicians including William Hennesy, Menahem Pressler, Gábor Takács-Nagy and David Takeno. Flinders has toured regularly for Musica Viva, and appears in festivals around Australia, where guest collaborators have included David Thomas, Kristian Chong, Ian Munro, Halycyon and Duo Sol.

In 2007, Flinders toured Switzerland, Sweden, England and Scotland, and Singapore in 2008. The quartet was Radio 3MBS FM's inaugural selection as Artists in Residence, a position they held until 2006. ABC Radio's Classic FM has also broadcast many of their performances. The Flinders Quartet members are dedicated teachers and mentors,
working with Youth Music Australia, Melbourne Youth Orchestra and the Australian Youth Orchestra.

They are committed to both the performance and commissioning of Australian works.
