Jessica Aszodi

Jessica Aszodi

Soprano Jessica Aszodi graduated from the Victorian College of the arts in 2006, where she studied with Anna Connolly.

She has performed with the Victorian Opera, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Chorale, Astra Chamber music society, Macau International music festival, Speak percussion, the Melbourne International Biennale of exploratory music and the Melbourne international Arts festival; in repertoire that encompasses Opera, Recital, Oratorio and Chamber music with a particular focus on contemporary classical music.

Her operatic roles include Eve (Stockhausen's Dienstag aus licht), Monica (the Medium), Aminta(The Shepherd king), and Clorinda (Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda). Recent highlights include singing the role of Donna Elvira for Victorian Opera's Don Giovanni and a solo recital at the Melbourne recital centre. A passionate exponent of new and unusual repertoire Jessica has performed with some of Australia's foremost new music ensembles and has premiered works by many local and international composers.

Awards received include the Eric and Margot Cooper travelling scholarship and the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Aria Competition.
