Four Winds is best known for its festival of classic, cultural and world music held every second Easter in the very beautiful Four Winds outdoor ampitheatre, Nature's Concert Hall, nine kilometres south of the small township of Bermagui, on the far south coast of New South Wales.

In the festivals held since 1991, Four Winds has offered its audiences the opportunity to hear some of the best Australian and international musicians playing fine classical and contemporary works, in programs drawn from a wide diversity of musical and cultural traditions. The Festival attracts a loyal audience from the local area, nationally and overseas.

The festivals have established a reputation for excellence in music that is enhanced by being performed in a magical site, where artists, winds, birds, even on occasion a Four Winds frog, all contribute to the proceedings.

The Four Winds Festival won the 2011 APRA/AMC Australian Art Music Award for Excellence in a Regional Location.

Four Winds is also known for its work with our community throughout the year to encourage participation in the development and production of creative and musical practice.

This includes our Inspiring Program, which has developed and encouraged a network of existing musical educators in the region.

A grant by the Regional Development Australia Fund has enabled the construction of The Windsong Pavilion, a purpose-built indoor recital hall which will be available for year-round events and performances from April 2014. This will enable Four Winds to establish itself as a full-time cultural hub, and place for the community, the region and beyond, able to offer world-class cultural events in beautiful surroundings.

Four Winds in a not for profit, incorporated association and is a tax exempt charitable entity.

Four Winds is managed by a board, chaired by Sheena Boughen, and employs a small number of part-time staff for day-to-day operations and festival organisation.
